New site launch for another satisfied client!
Recently I had the pleasure of building a new Squarespace website for William Adams of William Adams Design (@williamadamsdesign). Based in Oakland, California he’s an interior architect & designer specializing in kitchen design and complete interior architecture remodels.
William was eager to move from the LiveBooks platform which had become frustrating due to the lack of options and a complicated management system. Squarespace turned out to be the best solution for future updates, and he just needed some help to pull all of the elements together.
Some of the specifics he needed were:
- A refreshing, modern look
- Transfer of his existing content
- Image optimization for faster site loading
- A private, password-protected portfolio page
As standard practice, I also performed basic search engine optimization for the images and throughout the site.
With over 15 years of interior design experience, William had a number of projects to display, but two things we wanted to stay away from were:
- A homepage that would scroll forever and lose visitor attention
- A massive drop-down list in the navigation
The solution was to showcase a few projects on the homepage, then employ a small gallery above the footer with thumbnails linking to ten individual projects. This kept the site minimalist in style, while offering an extensive portfolio of work for potential clients to enjoy.
The polished look of the new site is a perfect match for the photos of William’s interior design work. As a lover of real estate and great home design, I enjoyed working on this project and really admire his expertise and dedication to his craft.
